Research at the Vaccine Healthcare Centers Network

Lab technician at workThe Vaccine Healthcare Centers (VHC) Network is engaged in research projects dedicated to understanding diversity in immune responses to vaccines when delivered to large populations, and the impact of this diversity on efficacy and safety. This research holds enormous potential for improving the quality of care and reducing the rate and severity of adverse events following immunization. Through these projects, we also hope to improve the quality of life for those who are adversely impacted by immunizations, reduce healthcare costs and disease rates through increased vaccination rates, and increase the acceptability of vaccine programs.

The VHC Network collaborates with other military, government, and academic research organizations to develop and implement vaccine research studies considered essential to national and military safety and defense. We are currently enrolling subjects in several studies at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC, and Womack Army Medical Center, Fort Bragg, NC.
